A "cost analysis projection" report is a mediation tool that we have developed to help you to make sure that you receive what your case is worth in the settlement process. It can also help you to understand the specifics of the medical condition and the projected medical care as well as potential complications.
Example: You have a case where future medical treatment and altered needs are a definite issue. You then send us the pertinent records and we will contact and interview your client from an experienced and trained healthcare provider point of view. As nurses, it is likely that we will ask questions that you would not think of, and thus bring even more issues to light. As we are medically trained, we compile and develop recommendations. We then work with your client's physicians to make sure they concur, and to check for further recommendations.
Next, we write a narrative report for you detailing such events as what happened; differentiating between the initial, intermediate, and then permanent injuries; the treatments involved and your client's response, and then the resultant issues that reflect likely future complications and future needs. This report is popular with our attorneys because they can cut and paste specific portions into the demand letter, saving much time and effort.
Then, we compile a cost grid for you that contains the costs of the future needs indicated by the report. This can involve hours of research and phone calls to get for you the current and most accurate costs that we can find. Taking this grid to mediation with you makes it so much simpler to demonstrate, in black and white, exactly WHY your client deserves more.
We have received nothing but positive feedback about our CAP reports. They are perfect for mediation, but are not recommended for litigated cases that will result in a trial and jury.
